Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network

I must admit- Seth Green is the MAN. He did what we all (or at least all of my friends) were thinking:

Take old shows and poke fun at how cheesy they used to be.

The nostalgia of the old shows is coupled with the great comedy timing of ... a drunk college frat.

For those that have never seen it, the show is a collage of old shows that were popular in the 80s-- done in stop motion animation with action figures and clay. Each clip is about a minute long.

Here's an example:
A reporter does a "where are they now" with cobra commander and he is a business manager demanding that his board members destroy. Then you see a trailer with Liono in a wife-beater and Cheetara with seven kittens from teh Thundercats claiming that life got hard when Mumra was defeated. They really dont need us anymore.

Anyhoo- just thought I would share the greatness of Robot Chicken. And ask if anyone know of any great shows that they want to share. and what makes it so great

The idea is based, in part, on "Twisted Toyfare Theater" (originally Twisted Mego Theater), a recurring feature in "Toyfare" magazine, which is a toy-collecting magazine published by Wizard Press, the same folks who publish Wizard and InQuest Gamer. The other Robot Chicken creators (other than Seth Green) are Toyfare staffers, and Seth Green is apparently good friends with all of them (being a toy collector himself).

I agree with Viking Bastard; RC is a little hit-and-miss, but some of it is just a riot. They recently did a spoof of "Cannonball Run", using various car-oriented toys and action figures, and actually got Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise to do the voices of their characters.

Right, it's not limited to parodies of old shows, it's free-form. A lot of parodies, a lot of jumble-ups, and some random sight gags (like the robot humping the car in the garage..."shhh," clang, clang, clang).

I saw the first two episodes of the second season last night and laughed loud enough to wake up my sleeping wife a few times.

I like the new shows that I've seen on Adult Swim, especially the barbarian one... uh... Korgoth.

Did you see the D&D parody on Robot Chicken? Some classic fantasy monsters were in a keep sitting around a table playing an RPG where they were office workers. One of the monsters did a saving throw against loosing data in an Excel spreadsheet. I laughed my hiney off.
