Rodney Thompson (wotc) now a "Designer"

From his twitter account a few minutes ago...

I have a new job. I am now a D&D Designer, as opposed to being a developer. Not a huge change for me.

I'm not sure this was not already known and he is just mentioning it - but I just saw it and thought it was interesting.

I hope he got a huge ass raise so he can come out to Origins every year!! Rodney is a great guy and one of the game designers I've watched slowly rise to great success. I've been afan of his for years!

It's what you get when a company or division doesn't reduce the number of positions, just the number of people filling them.

Huge-ass raise? What do you have against Rodney Thompson? I like the guy and loved his work on Star Wars : Saga Edition.

Rodney gets a huge-ass raise and before you know it, he'll be next up to be voted off the island.

Well after James Wyatt perhaps. I don't know whether to congratulate the man or send him some lillies and a condolences card. What a crappy situation to be working in. Hopefully, it's much better than we are lead to conclude on the outside looking in.

Best of luck to everyone I guess. The WotC roller coaster left the passenger loading area long ago. There's nothing for it but to hang on and enjoy the ride.

Thanks guys! It's not much of a change for me (I was designer/developer on Star Wars for three years, and I just did a lot of design work on three of the D&D Essentials books) but I'm happy to be contributing to D&D.
