Rogue/cleric

Hi!

I tried to look through my books & some catalogs of prestiges but i didn't find any decent rogue-cleric combination (somewhat like arcane trickster). Id like to have somewhat decent spellprogression and enough skills to handle rogueside. Divine prankster was closest but it would miss trap finding ability.

Any ideas?

Try this:

Rogue 1/Cloistered Cleric 19

Human gets you more skill points. 1 level of Rogue gives good skills, search and disable device as in class skills, and trapfinding. The +1d6 SA is just gravy.

OR

A straight cleric (or going into a cleric PrC) with the Kobold domain. That gives access to search and disable device and the trapfinding ability.

OR

A straight dwarvish cleric going into Church Inquisitor, which has search as an in-class skill. You can use stonecutting to look for stonework traps and the Find Traps spell to use your search ranks on anything else sketchy. Then find some way to bypass or disable it through creative roleplaying, brute force, or spell usage, not just relying on Disable Device.

They key thing is to lose as few caster levels as possible. You gain more with caster levels then you ever do with more rogue levels, IMHO.

There is also the Shadowbane Inquisitor in Complete Adventure (may be the Shadowbane enforcer but I think that's th e rogue-pally). I seem to recall you get decent SA progression 3/4 caster level and a fair number of rogue skills as class skills.

There are of course the RP requirements of the class. You are essentially the Lawfull Stupid alignment. I have a halfling Rogue/cleric of Yondalla going for that.

And take Able Learner as your 1st level feat.

The black flame zealot PrC would be awesome, but its spell progression leaves much to be desired (only 1/2 advancement).

Human paragon is nice for a three-level dip. Good skill list (you can pick them), a free feat, & +2 to a single ability score (like Wisdom).
