Another option is to drop the notion of stats measuring anything (I mean, you are saying that a low STR can be a measure of self-confidence, in direct contradiction of the rulebook saying that it measures natural athleticism and bodily power) and just treat them as bonuses as you have said. But then you get mechanics that are divorced from the fiction, as [USER=2209]@Voadam[/USER] has posted about not far upthread.</blockquote>
