Heh. Sounds like we're in mostly agreement, then. :) Only thing I'll add is that I'm having a hoot with one of my more tolerant players. In order to pay for a new sword, he signed on as a bodyguard for a fluttery noble who immediately ordered him to find his beautifuul-but-naive daughter, who had defied him by running off to the marketplace. The noble added in a lower voice, "Protect my daughter... and her virginity!" Because we're playing a fairly goofy swashbuckling game, the daughter turned out to be, uh, scarlet-tressed and feisty and horribly offended at being protected. I also gave her an Irish accent for some reason. Now the PCs have overheard a random conversation (swashbuckling: It's all about the coincidences) in which some young man is chuckling at the fact that the feisty young woman is in love with him and thinks he loves her, when in fact he's just using her to get to the noble's secret magical trove. And the daughter, while still slapping the bodyguard across the face and declaring that she needs no protection, is occasionally fixing her eyes, as deep and hazel as... uh... hazel... upon the bodyguard with a soft, speculative look when she thinks he isn't looking. And the noble keeps mentioning the importance of protecting his daughter's innocence. And the player just knows he's going to wake up next to her one morning with amusing and combat-probable consequences.
