Roper Question - Severed strands

The Forge of Fury is almost upon us, and I have a question: when a Roper's strand is severed, how long does it take to grow back? Does it grow back? Can the Roper produce another one immediately?

Thanks in advance.

Strands (Ex): Most encounters with a roper begin when it fires strong, sticky strands. The creature can have up to six strands at once, and they can strike up to 50 feet away (no range increment). If a strand is severed, the roper can extrude a new one on its next turn as a free action.

So, it can regrow all severed strands on its next initiative as a free action.

For fighter types, sometimes the best tactic is to not sever the strand, and charge for the Roper. This is because the Weakness (Ex) ability, as described, only saps strength when "grabbed by a strand". If this occurs every round while grabbed is open to debate.

In any case, the fighter's Fort save is high enough that he can ignore the strand and concentrate on dishing out damage to the Roper itself.

Just one thing - make damn sure that the roper SPEAKS TO THE PARTY, and says more than "hmm, yummy food". Otherwise the party will assume that they need to kill it to get any captives back, and you could end up with a TPK.
