Alan Bahr created this game for his <strong>Gallant Knight Patreon</strong> before licensing it to <strong>Outland Entertainment</strong>. Their work was in-line with standard, well laid out designs. After <strong>Outland’s</strong> license lapsed, <strong>Octopress Publishing</strong> acquired the <strong><em>TOMBPUNK RPG</em></strong> and set about revamping the visuals and layout of the game. Kristopher Neal McClanahan’s artwork and layouts revised the core rulebook into an homage to Johan Nohr (<strong><em>MÖRK BORG</em></strong>) style. In September 2023, <strong>Octopress</strong> ran a <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/octopress/tombpunk-rpg-the-mausoleum-edition/" target="_blank"><strong>Kickstarter</strong></a> which raised nearly 6x times as much as the game did 3 years before. They delivered the game earlier this year and, in November 2025, <strong>Octopress</strong> is <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/octopress/shallow-graves-cult-of-the-moon-spider-for-tombpunk-rpg" target="_blank">kickstarting this game again</a> along with a new adventure book. Why head back to the well? Unfortunately, some of the original print run of books had <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/octopress/tombpunk-rpg-the-mausoleum-edition/posts/4420835" target="_blank">binding issues</a> and <strong>Octopress</strong> wanted to replace the defective copies with new stock from another printer, which is the right decision. Unfortunately, that level of customer service takes money.
