https://orig00.deviantart.net/77a7/f/2017/345/7/d/ringworld_by_thomasbowman767-dbwhdx2.png This is a diagram I drew some time ago of a ringworld around our Sun some time in the distant future. Larry Niven's ringworld is a little different, he made some trivial changes to the dimensions to make it plausibly alien. The Ringworld is Huge! it is 1 million miles wide, 95 million miles in radius, it rotates once every ten days to produce almost one Earth gravity, there is lots of technology, but like Barsoome this World has fallen on hard times, most people on its surface live a primitive existence due to the lack of availability of workable metals to base technology on.
