I have run druids who had developed a sort of "alliance" with their animal companions and who were willing to sacrifice said animals in the grand scheme of protecting the natural world. Death is a part of life, and people of pre-industrial societies know that fact very well. I don't get the interpretation of rangers and druids as "flower power hippies" that is so prevalent these days.I really cannot see the point of this article in 2025.</blockquote>
