That way you can also play 'non typical' member of the race and it actually comes across.Though sometimes "unique weird thing" can work. I played in a long campaign in a human only world where one PC was literally the only tiefling in existence. And as it was pretty grim dark ages style setting with a monotheistic religion that hated witches and heretics, you can imagine they were not so thrilled about a literal hellspawn either, so her being a tiefling really mattered.</blockquote>
