Did you try it out after CMP took over the stewardship?

Is there a demo? I have a real had time negotiating the CMP site.

Oh, and KP, I hope you took the criticism in the spirit in which it was intended. PCGen definitely has good points, and I use it. It definitely shows that it's freeware, though.

There isn't a demo, no. And there won't be since RPG Toolkit is slated to be out shortly. Last year, they were hoping 2Q05, but their aiming for a GenCon release now.

Which criticism where? I honestly don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, I did... and I have tried EVERYTHING else out there... Right now I am going between Hero3.5Ex and the Multi-class character sheet to do my generating, they are good but not PERFECT (then again, I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth). My DM loves me for turning him on to Hero as do all of the other players I play with, but I am the "guinea pig" for the group and I have to fork over the money to test it and give them the breakdown...

Guess that is why my library is so big... TOO big if you ask me...

Oh well, this will go on my laptop and I will bring it to game to give it the fill test. Like I said, when I know, you all will know too.

Ah. I was digging through other posts where you and I have discussed things...didn't even occur to look up :o

Ah, yes. I forgot. Probably old news, then. Since the character sheet has been my consistant complaint.

On the other hand, if I ever get the time to design the one I want, I will hand it over to you guys.

My suspicions for the buy-in early price is a logical numbers thing. They probably need money to continue with the project and are hoping to get some pre-sales going to get that money.

As a developer I know it is hard to "hope" that someone buys your stuff when it is released after you've slogged through months of work. If you could make some pre-sales even at a discounted price (here losing 20%) then at least those people will become your marketing vanguard.

Email me with specifics of what you're looking for. I'll get a tracker entered for our output sheet monkeys to look at: pkingdnd at yahoo dot com

Right. I'll see if I can organize my thoughts into something coherent, though. Nothing worse than crappy requirements.
