The ability for a group to run without a healer would be great. I have always hated the "someone has to play the healer" of all editions, and to a lesser extent, "Someone has to play the defender". IME most people like playing strikers or controllers.
 

I'm kinda hoping the controller role gets tossed, myself. Throw around some daze, move some monsters around, do some AoE, great - but everyone can do that.

I don't need burst stuns and stuck for the combat, or unconscious and ready to die in any form.
 


I would toss all the combat roles.

There should be no reason my thief or my fighter couldn't pop out a heal if they need to. There should also be no reason they can't immobilize, daze, or poison. There should also be no reason why they can't draw aggro if they need to. There should also be no reason they can't deal big spike damage if they need to.

Embed the mechanics in round-to-round options, rather than at-character-creation options. Keeps strategy pretty dynamic.
