Running

Running is a full round action. IF attempting to Jump, a move action, then Do you have to spend a full round action gearing up a 20 ft run, or is the 20 ft run simply qualified as a move action.

Ahem. Jumping is not a separate action.

As Hong said, jumping (including the 20 foot running start) is part of a move action, not a separate action. A high-level monk with Spring Attack could theoretically move 20 feet, jump across a chasm 20 feet wide, move another 10 feet, attack an opponent, move 10 feet back towards the chasm, and jump across it again (though the Jump DC would be doubled, for DC 40) in a single round.

Man, I am going to have reread the jump rules for that part.

That said, from what everyone is saying, no one interprets running jump to mean that one must actually run to get the benifit. A move action is suffient.

Thanks for the replies.
