Running Black Ice Well (my players stay out!)

I'm getting ready to run Black Ice Well for my group. This thread will contain spoilers!

I've read the reviews, and Damien's adventure log, but am having some difficulties with the module. Are there any members here who have run it? Are there any conversions of it to 3.5? Will you help me figure out how to "fix" some of the issues I foresee with my group?

For example:
The first part of the module (about 20 encounters) assumes the party will be walking through the woods. But my group uses Wind Walk to go just about everywhere. I'm trying to come up with a creative way to prevent them from bypassing the whole first part of the module, but everything I think of seems contrived. Any suggestions?

Well, I don't know the adventure at all, but I'd suggest (for this piece) trying to find a way to make the journey potentially informative - perhaps glyphs carved on standing stones are said to tell more about the subject of the adventure - and there are plenty of them, scattered about the forest. Make them have a reason to walk through the forest - make it part of the adventure rather than something one the way to the adventure.
