Zhaleskra
Adventurer
At one point in an adventure I hope to run soon, a villain is an undead sorceress who another villain is planning to have possess someone through a ritual that summons the first's spirit into a host body. I have a contingency in place in case this does not happen to a PC.
Anyway, even if the second villain uses the ritual successfully, the possession is not complete immediately. So to show the host body fighting this incorporeal undead's influence, I had two ideas: opposed Cha checks, or something similar to an Ego contest with an intelligent magic item. If the undead wins in the Cha contest, I'd say something like she takes 1d6 points of the host's Cha over or something. If the host wins, nothing happens.
Any other ideas?
