OK. Patlin continues to be one step ahead of me, & should really earn himself another 5 points for Griffendor. But I refuse to compromise my brilliant and infinitely entertaining plotline simply b/c its been predicted and second-guessed by a clever player! Did I mention this adventure would have a 1E feel to it? Hopefully in a good way. Beamer finds the case still in his haversack. To open it, he has to pull it out and unlatch it. He does this and finds the scythe still there. The bad dreams seem to come back to everyone more, though, as the weapon is revealed. Meanwhile the screaming and flailing of the 5 co-campers continues to increase in violence. Suddenly the two women stop, convulse, and lie still. In the relative darkness of the night, two even darker shapes rise from the bodies. The three guards also stop screaming, and release a long breath, which is the last breath they will ever take. They all stand, their faces pale and twisted shadows of what they were. Their lips peel back from their teeth and they lunge at those who still live. Everyone is fully armed. (Since you can sleep in light armor, and Razh was on watch.) Ogrin is next to the women who he'd been trying to help. Razh is near the fire. A knowledge (religion) skill check might reveal some information about what you face. Initiative: Beamer Ogrin S Banion W Eusebius Razh
