Checkmate No quarter is asked or given, as the climatic battle ensues. The King's face becomes clear. It is Beamer's face. And it bears a look of horror. Razh stomach turns, but he's too experienced to let it catch him off guard. Razh gets a slight edge off the bat, and, when the King steps forward with chains, manages to step in and attack. He hits, hard with his first blow, though his second goes wide. His axe bites deeply, though he's immediately aware that it isn't fully effective against the foe. The King's chains fly furiously. He wields one in each hand, plus one more, the minotaur's belt, also attacks, though it has no wielder. The king's accuracy is good, but Razh's armor and dwarven toughness keep him alive despite the pummeling. The battle rages for only about 30 seconds, with red and black blood flying. And then there is a victor. The dwarf's axe cuts deeply, severing the spine of the Black King. The King hits the floor, on his back. Beamer's face fades, to be replaced, briefly, by another face, that of a man, old, wise and kind. The man winks at Rasereit, then dissapears. The battle is over. The three remaining viking warriors and the elven cleric cheer, and the mental compulsion to stay in one's square is gone. The black pieces fade from the board, and the white pieces move in to congratulate Razh, first then bow to Beamer, before dissapearing themselves. As Razh comes out of rage, he realizes that the elven bishop has cured his wounds before dissapearing. Razh is able to pick up a final small black chesspiece. I'll post again soon. Feel free to speak, but something else happens soon. Give me a chance to make another post... HP status: Eusebius: 22/44 Ogrin 51 Razh full Spells and effects: Mage armor on Beamer & Eusebius
