Narančasta looks at the blade of the shortsword and nods. "That should work." With the blade wedged between the door and the doorjamb it will take quite a bit of battering, and a lot of noise, for anything below to force the door. The door to the gatehouse's upper chamber is partially open and the group is able to easily enter. The chamber is a mess: a battle appears to have occurred here many years ago and the floor is littered with bones and rusting weapons and armor. Much of it is unusable but with a little work from Borok and Tender they are able to salvage a suit of chain for Tender and piece together a serviceable shield. Since it is late by this time the villagers do not wish to brave the forest between Krivstad and the Keep and so opt to rest in the gatehouse until the morning when the portcullis can be raised and they can travel in the light of day. But, when the sun rises they all shamble off to resume their small lives and bring word to Krivstad of the brave deeds those who rescued them. The broken sword is pried from the door. The door is stuck, swollen with dampness and it takes a moment to force it open. Stairs descend and cool air wafts up from the darkness. Narančasta collects the unlit torches from around the tower walls; there are only three but they'll soon be necessary. [sblock=OOC]If you have taken damage, you heal 1 hp overnight.[/sblock]
