Just a reminder that the San Diego Comic Con is this weekend. Plenty of gaming, with the official schedule listed here:

Also several RPGA Living Greyhawk games will be run.

Wizards of the Coast is usually there, with a huge booth. Unsure if they will make it this year, with Gen Con coming up.

Glad you had fun.

As you might expect, the focus was on comic books. Decipher was there, mostly as part of the Lord of the Rings Pavilion. They showed the Two Towers trailer, which looked good.

White Dwarf also made it, as did Kenzer and Co. Atlas Games, Sword and Sorcery Studios, and Steve Jackson Games were repped by a retailer. (Managed to get a ton of dice from the latter for about 9¢ a die. Would've gotten more, but the second time around they decided I couldn't use both hands. [Next time I'll bring my own cup.])

Stan! of Wizards of the Coast shared a table, and Phil Foglio had a booth. John Kovalic was "hosted" by the same folks who repped Atlas et. al.

Saw Ray Bradbury, Mark Hamil (hard core fanboy, if you hadn't heard), Stan Winston, Larry Elmore, and Keith Parkinson, along with other folks who's names I've misplaced. Missed R. A. Salvatore however.

According to rumor, the con had something like 60,000 attendees. Up from 53,000 the year before.

I preregged for next year, paying 20 bucks less than I did this. The con will be July 17-20 2003, which means that more game companies should be showing up. (BTW, my badge number for 2003 is in the 1900s, so expect a lot of people for next time.)

Come on down, attend the con, see the sights. But, save your money up. Food and gas prices locally are extortionate. If you can get a hotel room with a fridge, it'll save you tons on food.
