San Francisco Game Stores

I post in faith that this Board will be here tomorrow and many tomorrows to come!

I am getting married in late November and my soon-to-be wife and I are both gamers. Its how we met actually. We will be in San Francisco for a week and were thinking about doing some shopping while there. Can anyone give me the names and adresses of some game stores, and maybe what the specialize in? Especially in the Union Square area, or that we can reach via mass transit or foot (not renting a car this trip.) In addition to RPGs we like comics and CCGs.

Thanks All!

It depends on what you want. If you are all about RPGs you'll get different recommendations than if you want German boardgames. My three favorites right now are:

1) Gator Games, San Mateo: A good selection of pretty much everything from Confrontation miniatures to 3rd party RPG products to German boardgames to Warhammer to MtG to Yugi-O to MageKnight to Reaper. Pretty much anything a gamer could want.
2) End Game, Oakland: A slightly smaller selection which covers all the same areas, but closer to my house. ;-) Includes a spacious gaming area which seems to mostly be Warhammer or MageKnight.
3) Gamescape, Divisidero St, San Fransisco: Again, good coverage of a lot of stuff including a fair amount of RPG stuff. About the same mass of merchandise as Gator, but with slightly different emphasis.

New:
Eudemonia on University in Berkeley. Specializes in MtG, huge gaming area, all new stock in most major forms of gaming.

Since you also mentioned a love of comics, Gamescape is two doors down from one of the best comics stores in SF, Comix Experience. When I went to college in San Francisco, my weekly Comic run neatly merged into my weekly Game store run, with no muss and no fuss. Whenever I get back to the City, I always stop in and take a look.
