Sanguinarian Patrician (SaP) The Sanguinarian Patricians is a malign sect seeking to emulate that which is not natural, vampires. Not many dares to walk this path however, and those rare few who does, finds the boons far greater than the drawbacks. The tradition of the Patricians originated long ago in Krashurt, the realm of nightmares and eternal terror. The newly formed Patricians formed a council and with time, had an entire kingdom bow to submission. Few dared oppose their rule, and if one haughty person did that exact thing, the council would make an example of him by stealing his soul and torturing it for an eternity. And as time went by, historians recorded the Patricians cruel reign and was passed down the story books. They ruled their people but did not care about them, they extortioned them to the brink of poverty. Slaughtered innocents daily, burned villages and destroyed families, all for the sheer sport of it. Becoming a Sanguinarian Patrician The Sanguinarian Patricians are almost always loners, and outcasts of society. Most Patricians set their eyes on the path very early in their career, although good-aligned meldshapers who have fallen from grace has been known to pick up the mantle of the blood-weavers. Perhaps you uncovered a mysterious book detailing the enthralling yet suppressive ways o f the Patricians. Class Features As a Patrician, your power as a meldshaper gets furthered as you attain levels in this PrC. The great versality offered by harnessing incarnum combined with the abilities offered by the Patrician, you will be able to overcome almost any obstacle with ease. You will however, not gain any extra essentia by venturing down the Patrician’s road, but you will gain multiple abilities, which allows you to drain essentia from your opponents. All of the following is the class features of the Sanguinarian Patrician prestige class. Weapons and Armor Proficiencies: You gain no additional proficiencies with weapons, armor or shields. Improved Meldshaper Level: Each time you gain a level of Sanguinarian Patrician, you also increase your meldshaping level as if you had gained a level in the meldshaping class to which you belonged prior to gaining the Sanguinarian Patrician level. You do not, however, gain any other abilities of that class, such as additional melds, extra chakra binds, increased essentia, or new tiers of chakra binds. Soul Drain (Ex): The Patrician has his own pool of essentia, although the amount of essentia he is able to use is based on his quantity of blood points (he derives the soul energy from consumed blood). He may not exceed his base essentia pool. To consume blood he must find a helpless target (for instance, a character knocked prone, a rat will do as well) and use his canines to drain the blood (draining constitution as well) of the victim. He drains 1 constitution per round. The dreary furtherrance ability gained at 2nd level will substantially make it easier to drain blood.
