Has any one ever tried turning the Patryn and Sartan runic magic into classes? From the Death Gate Cycle(TM)? I know the Patryn/Sartan are demigods, but if their magic was weakened down to a class, it could make a rather cool one. Haplo is the only user of Patryn magic I have read about all that much. {I'm on hand of Chaos, the fifth book, I think} Patryn as I understand, alters the world through actual probability. They enhance their skills, they alter the physical world, all within the realm of possibility. It is possible the spear will hit its mark, its possible for the sword to slicer sharper than a normal blade. The Patryn runes also appear to offer damage reduction and spell resistance. As well as warn the Patryn of danger. The Patryn trace the runes in the air or on an item that is to be enchanted. **NOTE! Spoiler about Alfred to any one who hasn't read up to "The Serpent Mage" The Sartan on the other hand, seem to do whatever the heck they want. They alter the world however they see fit, and rewrite the laws of the physical world with ease. The only Sartan I know much about is Alfred, and he so far, has levitated, turned into a dragon, and sent souls from the bodies of the risen dead to the next journey. The Sartan also require dance and singign in order to work their runes. Has any one ever done anything with either of these principals? Or have any ideas about how to implement them? The Patryn sound a bit like the warlock, though, perhaps a mix between warlock and artificer. The Sartan on the other hand are like insanely effective bardic spell csaters. Kinda. Also, can someone tell me what the spoiler code is? Thanks -Sravoff
