Savage Species FAQ

I'm glad to see they've hammered the point repeatedly about Manyshot being a standard action... I just wish they'd specifically said "... and so you can't use it with Shot on the Run" to make it abundantly clear.

"Do anthropomorphic felines lose their pounce abilities?
Yes; see the Special Attacks entry on page 215 of Savage
Species."

What on earth does non-humanoid shape have to do with the ability to leap on someone and make a full attack? I can understand no raking, but you've still got your claw and bite attacks as an anthropomorphic feline. How does being bipedal stop you using Pounce?

"See p215" doesn't answer the question...

So here's something interesting from the FAQ:

Describing "character level," they say

"In addition, your character level determines how much
experience you earn when you defeat a foe and how many
experience points you need to gain your next class level."

In the next questions, describing "effective character level," they say

"Use the character’s ECL to determine starting equipment
and how the character earns and benefits from experience, as
noted on page 5 of Savage Species."

Okay, I am now officially confused. Isn't "how much
experience you earn when you defeat a foe and how many
experience points you need to gain your next class level" the same thing as "how the character earns and benefits from experience"? Mind you, these are in consecutive sections.

Can someone explain this to me?

The comment on character level is wrong, the one for ECL is correct. It's just that for most characters, character level = ECL, so they glossed over (or forgot about) it in the first one.

On the 'when can races with positive level adjustments take Epic feats' question, the answer refers to a sidebar in the Epic Level Handbook for more info... after giving an answer that directly contradicts said sidebar.
