Savage Species: Monster Ranching

One thing I just realized the Savage Species sourcebook is perfect for: "Monster Fighting Cohorts" type campaigns, in the vein of Pokemon, Digimon or Monster Ranchers. Especially Monster Ranchers.

A group of PCs could either be a group of 1st level Monsters in service to a sixth level handler, a mixed group of handlers and monsters, or a group of handlers with monster NPC cohorts...

Considering that it has a Prestige Class dedicated to slaad farming, I'd say the answer to your question is "Yes."

Why not! Although D&D purists will be appalled, a significant percentage of gamers are also anime fans. Besides Pokemon has some ideas that could make interesting D&D adventures. (seriously!)
