SRD: This abjuration grants a creature limited protection from damage of whichever one of five energy types you select: acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic. The subject gains energy resistance 10 against the energy type chosen, meaning that each time the creature is subjected to such damage (whether from a natural or magical source), that damage is reduced by 10 points before being applied to the creature’s hit points. The value of the energy resistance granted increases to 20 points at 7th level and to a maximum of 30 points at 11th level. The spell protects the recipient’s equipment as well. 1-The spell saves as the warrior. By trying to avoid the flames, he keeps the net out of the fire as well since it is entangled around his body. As to the penalties on the save that is a different story. The warrior surely loses Dex modifier to his Ref, but one might rule that he gets an even bigger penalty, or that he doesn't get a save at all. (Depends on the level of entanglement) 2-As for the fire protection there are two choices: a)Fire protection does not affect the net since it not part of his equipment. b)Fire protection does affect the net. The net is all over the warrior'd body, thus it can be treated as an item "carried" by the warrior. Personally, i'd choose the latter because IMO it makes more cense. That doesn't mean that (a) is wrong.
