So I got the SCAG and it made me think several things.1. Those cantrips would be awesome on my Jester (Bard)2. This is a whole lot of background information compared to anything having to do with changes to the characters and etc.Which gave me the awesome idea of running "home groups" basically non A.L. encounters created based around the lore and running things to coincide with books such as The thousand orcs etc. Interacting with characters not as often mentioned along the sword coast and applying changes as the main story unfolds. (A group assisted by a felbar patrol might get moved to an adbar or Silvermoon patrol)Normal A.L. rules and builds apply with corresponding encounter based rewards/exp.No character modification allowed as to preserve the dated story the group creates and no other group overlaps it. (Unless they just want to run for fun I guess) D.M. will have to apply logical stories for players skipping follow up games accordingly to that players detriment or benefit at the players risk. The basis will be to allow the group to play the story and area with characters such as General Dagnabbit only giving them a mission or having to try and bluff a Lord along the coast. The party events should be able to unfold anywhere along the storyline up until the latest tale. It's not a A.L. game but hey it will allow for longer game times at a more flexible schedule I guess.I was wondering about using a WH40K method of movement and L.O.S. on the board instead of grid squares. Applying the rate of movement as 1inch per 5 ft. 30ft=6inches. Allowing for a more aggressive movement system I guess
