Scarred Lands 3.5 product questions--summon the sage!

OK,

I'm thinking of improving my SL collection and am wondering if any of the older books are not worth buying because of 3.5 issues. I'm thinking especially of Divine and the Defeated, as well as the Creature Collections.

Also, the what exactly will hte CC revised be a revision of?

I own almost all SL products and see no problem at all with 3.5 - the CC revised is a revised version of the original CC which appeared in stores even before MM 3.0. CCr includes 3.5 updates on all player races for the SL, including gnolls, charduni dwarfs and those catpeople from Termana...

Divine and Defeated is still very much worth buying. None of the historical/cultural/religious info has changed any. And I really don't think the changes in mechanics from 3.0 to 3.5 are going to really matter all that much when you're dealing with the avatars of gods. ;)

CC2 is worth getting. You'll have to do some conversion work, but no more than you'd have to do for, say, MM2 or Fiend Folio. And some of the critters in there are really cool.

Creature Collection Revised takes the first CC, fixes a great many problems, changes a few creatures to templates (i.e. fatlings, hags), and updates it all to 3.5.

Not the sage, but:

I'd say that Divine and the Defeated is not necessary, as you can get all the basic info about the setting dieties in other places.

The Creature Collection ( CC1 ) was the first 3rd party monster book made for d20. It has been revised for 3.5, now called Creature Collection Revised or CCR ( This book looks very similar to the original with the cover being a bit darker on the revised book) . This book is fairly essential for playing long term in the SL.

CC2 is also something you will want if you are going to be in the setting for an extended period of time. I'd recommend just starting with CCR for now though.

Thanks guys for picking up my slack. :) In any case I still think the CORE of the books (mostly the fluff) is still very viable. As for the mechanics, most of those remain relatively intact. That said, I do think it might be easier in some places to use 3.0 material where usable. In any case I do know that from July until the next revision (if there is one), every book will be 3.5 compliant. (Course I think the changes to the SRD in terms of adding new Pr-classes and Feats helps us more than than it hurts others. ;) )

Are there plans for any more "revised" books of existing Scarred Lands books? I'm planning on increasing my Scarred Lands collection as well, but may not want to buy a book in the near future if a month from now there are plans for a "revised" version of that same book. Given a choice though, I'd rather have new books be new material rather than revised versions of all the same stuff I've already bought.

To my knowledge, only CC Revised is the only one being revised. I don't believe there are plans to revise any of the other books from pre-3.5 era. (I will say I could be wrong...but I'd doubt it.)

From my POV, the real question comes in with dealing with the two Relics and Rituals books.

I'm suprised the SS fanbase isn't pushing on this.

Over at Kenzer we Kalamar types have managed to get a whole project going to update every book put out in a pdf updater that should come out in the coming months.
