Was going to work but now i'm posting... re: gods You can add new demi-gods in effortlessly and thus have the kind of game from having say, a god of assassines or clouds or whatever. IMC It wouldn't be possible to raise a lesser god. All the gods are the result of matings (kinda) of two or more titans. All the lesser gods are the fruit of the gods. It would be very interesting to see a the worshipers of a minor god grow larger than a major god but.... Think about it: Belsameth doesn't probably have as many worshipers as Irda. Furthermore: Despite everything a god (vs. demi-god) has never been killed. They took down the S------, & all the Titans and not one of them bit it. Demi-gods bite the big one constantly. I think there's a fundimental difference between the two. To turn into the broken record again: To run a good SL game all you need is the SLCS hardback. That's it. (you need the race stuff from the DMs screen but ask people to post it. that stuff should have been included in the hardback anyway) I also have been running a game for about 6 months. Everything in R&R is "lost lore". It turns up rarely, if at all. Maybe four or five spells and the same number of magic items (mostly stuff like Hornsaw blades in the hands of a Redeemer). In fact, I'm probably going to say something amounting to heresy but -DON'T- get R&R to play in the SL. Its not nessessary if you've got a budget. its a great book but if you're trying to run a game on 50$ you really want stuff like the Hardcover and, once you've gone over the SLCS if you feel like you need more then pick up books based on your interests. Download Sepent Amphora, the corrected Incarnate and the rest of the goodies from the web site. For a general DM book its hard to go wrong with the Divine and the Defeated or Hollowfaust for a regional book. Its hard to underestimate this. Keep magic items rare and weird. Make about half of the magical items "trouble" in some way and the game gets better. SL was originally designed with this in mind (no magic item prices , etc) but the 3e system requires gold prices to figure out how to create magic items.
