Message: <blockquote data-quote="JoeGKushner" data-source="post: 403077" data-attributes="member: 1129">Setting up my new Scarred Lands campaign, (My DM is taking a brether), I've noticed one thing that bugs me.Player based cities are rare.  Not rare in the setting, but detailed in a sourcebook like Mithril.Hollowfaust isn't my cup of tea and I don't think it suits my campaign style well.Mithril is great but hey, I've already run Mithril.I'd added Freeport outside the Toes and Bluffside on the far western end of the land mass, but I'd like a native city.When's the sourcebok on Vesh coming out?  I could use another player friendly territory.  I keep having people want to become vigils anyway so it'll be interesting to see how that goes.As far as Mind FLayers and the other things (whose name I can never spell), I'm having the mind flayers use the orcs from the Plains of Lede as a brute force to clear away the humans so that they can investigate the older areas and look for remains.  Of course most of the orcs don't know their being used as it's done through their leaders, a few black orcs from AEG's Monstrers and lots of prestige classes from Heroes of High Favor: Half-Orcs.  I had a temple from the module Brotherhood of Prophecy and since several of the students there were half-orcs left by their parents, they've now become Lost Ones (Monk-Barbarians) and are truly a fearsome force.  I've even added my old Fiery Dragon stuff to the setting since the old FD Karathis setting never really got enough detail for my taste.  The tribe of Himrak orcs have become the de facto leader of the orcs fro mteh Plains of Lede.One of the things I've been having a hard time with though are the prestige classes.  Not in the SL books mind you.  I want to add some monstrous humanoids with PrCs but the requirements are often so high that the monsters would be 6th-8th level by the time they get into it whihc puts them way above most of the characters.Ah well.  Maybe if I'm not too lazy I'll do a story hour thing about it.  How does that go Nightfall?  You just fictionalize what happened in the game and pop it into that forum?</blockquote>
