Scenario idea wanted

I am currently running the Savage Tide AP and I can personally recommend it. Its full of pirates, demons, dinosaurs, etc. Its a lot of fun. You can check it out in Dungeon magazine (the last dungeon issue will have the final adventure - so if you buy the last 12 issues, you'll have the whole AP).

However, if you just want an adventure or two that is based on a nautical theme, maybe just use the first three adventures: There is No Honour, The Bullywug Gambit, and the Sea Wyvern's Wake. The last adventure is a whole sea voyage with side adventures along the way (plus the issue comes with a full colour grid map of the caravel the party will sail on: the Sea Wyvern).

They sound great, I'll see if I can find them someplace. Thanks!

1) Early on in my last campaign, the Party had to survive being hunted as prey on a private hunting preserve...an Island, in fact. They had been stripped and their equipment scattered all over the Island...to give them a "fair chance" to survive, or at least be a challenge.

2) Consider the archetype of the Odyssey/Jason and the Argonauts/Lost in Space, then check out the ooooooold Judges Guild Wilderlands adventures ( like http://index.rpg.net/display-entry.phtml?mainid=5067&editionid=5677)- between the several modules, you got a HUGE collection of maps dotted with islands, each with encounters. Some were pretty minor, others were potentially lethal- like the island plagued by trolls. Good News! There's even a D20 version out there now!

Cheers, there's some good stuff there. I like the idea of having tons of dotted islands, moving ships through them en route to a colony or some such.

Thanks.

Okay. Here's your published sea-based adventures, with the idea of working them in as you go, rather than an adventure path or focus on the island continent.

: my player OUT!

Island of the Damned (monkeys! zombies! voodoo!) 2-5th level characters
http://www.adamantentertainment.com

Maiden Voyage (1st to 3rd) mutiny! intrigue! murder mystery!
see reviews on this site.

Tomb of Haggemuth (3rd to 8th $7) has a lot of island hopping, oracles, ice islands, desert islands, etc.

Dungeon 123: Salvage Operation (2nd level): slowly sinking ruin, with a corker of a last scene.

They sound pretty good, I might have to get one of those. I have no objection to buying a scenario if it's recommended.

I'll look into those.

long voyages like this one are sometimes good to run as a resource based adventure.

the hunt for fresh water, food, wood or rope materials to repair the ship.
a cure for diseases.
a cure for the ennui.
maybe have the players come up with games of their own making for the long voyage. kinda like trashcan basketball in an office. or sticking pencils in the ceiling tiles...

Yeah I hadn't thought about that, but playing office basketball would be good :)

No, I do like some of these ideas, they're looking good. I have some more of my original ideas bending slightly and some new ones I want to merge.

You've all been helpful, cheers.
