Scent and the smell skill

Okay I'm going to give my Orcs and Half-orcs the Scent feat for free.

So far Scent means that one can track by smell
Would it be fair and logical to also allow a Smell skill along the lines of the Spot and Listen skills? (probabaly more listen)

Smell (Wis, untrained) Smell is used to detect and identify ordors of creatures, potions and other substances. Smell can help determine if food is rotten and even allow you to determine if someone is really who they say they are.
Special: Requires the Scent feat

Various DCs listen based on distance, intensity and other factors (eg Perfume is a -2 penalty etc)

I think it only makes sense that a character with the Scent quasi-Feat be able to improve his Wis check with Smell skill ranks, in the same way that anyone can improve Wis checks to see or hear via Spot and Listen, or that anyone can improve his tracking skill (one he has the Track Feat) via Wilderness Lore.

You know, the HarnMaster RPG has had Eyesight, Hearing, Taste and Smell stats since the early 80s...
