Message: <blockquote data-quote="Kai Lord" data-source="post: 776549" data-attributes="member: 3570">I think a company shouldn't release anything without art that their proud of, regardless of how much it cost.  Did you ever play Cyberpunk 2020?  The art in that book was badass, and it was all black and white and from no-name artists.  If a company doesn't have the budget for a name artist, and they don't do the legwork to find an affordable breakout artist that no one's heard of, then I say don't bother.The first Yuan-ti is from Savage Species.  The second is from Races of Faerun.  RoF is the first major release to show the results of WoTC gutting their in-house art department.  Absolutely nothing from Lockwood, Wood, WAR, Sweet, Brom, or any of the other premiere artists.  Pure economical crap.Tome of Horrors for one.  Pretty much anything that isn't WOTC.  That doesn't mean WOTC is off the hook, however, RoF has shown they aren't above releasing products that showcase the doodles of a five year old (with apologies to all the talented five year olds out there).  I forgot about Rokugan, however, their books are very nice, and did indeed appear to have the content to back it up.  If I was into Oriental adventures, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one of their products.So far only Wizards.  As I said, I'm open to other material, but only time will tell if I deem anything in the future worthy of a purchase.</blockquote>
