The innkeep and his wife seem a bit stunned by the sudden change in their fortunes and the barrage of questions that they receive. Colin's easy manner and request for a drink, something they understand well, seems to bring them around. The woman reaches up and takes down a dusty bottle of aged dwarven spirits. She deftly pulls the cork with a small handspike hanging nearby and takes a stiff pull. Wiping the bottle with a rag she passes it over. "I'm sorry there are no glasses handy sir dwarf," she says in a voice tightened by the strong drink. Her husband looks scandalized, but recovers in response to Manous' question. The innkeep takes stock and responds to Manous, "We are not seriously hurt, what of our people?" "I honestly can't say why they came here. Once the began to threaten harm to my dear lady wife, I told them of the small stash of savings we have buried under the floor, but it is hardly a king's ransom." Upstairs Balthazar Amedi surveys the destruction--dead orcs, broken tables, smashed chandelier, scorched wood and other signs of battle are everywhere. He sniffs, "Hounds have every treated there kennels deplorably." He turns to Lucien, "And how can you be sure these you have slain were not merely thirsty travelers seeking a drink?"
