Round one summary Initiative Order Malkyr Tsul 21 Tabitha 21 Wilhelm 19 Alejandro (Ali) Arroyo 18 Manous Artouche 9 Vivienne 9 Lucien 8 Spiders 6 Malkyr quickly has his weapons ready, firing silently a bolt at one of the arachnids (1). It hits, but does not slow the spider which is easily as large as a mastiff. From her vantage point Tabitha could see the three spiders bearing down on the others. Her feysteel rapier in one hand, and her dagger in the other, she was ready to fight...but she couldn't emerge from her hiding place without them seeing her. But perhaps she had a remedy for that. She traced two fingers down the smooth silver of her rapier's blade and whispered, "Spread your wings, Steel Falcon." And from behind the bushes that Tabitha had taken cover in, a sword hurtled out like a falling star...with no one wielding it! The rapier lunged at the nearest spider (1), which whirled and hissed, drawing its foremost legs back defensively and baring its venomous palps. It lashed out once...twice, the sword dodging each time, then twirling under its belly and slashing brutally upwards to carve a line through the thin exoskeleton of its underbelly! The vicious wound leaves the spider bloodied. Its work done, the blade whispered back through the air to be caught deftly by Tabitha as she stepped from hiding. "All right...who's next?" The old man had been distracted by the younger lady, speaking animatedly about Drache and had fallen behind. His movements were fast, however, and he fires two shots before most could fire one. The reports thunder off the slope and the bullets strike both the spiders with a wet ‘smack’ sound. Ali moves forward 10 feet and throws his long sword at the front spider. The blade slices across the spider's abdomen and returns to Ali's hand. The blade bites deep and green ichor flows thickly. The spider teeters for a moment and then its legs spasm and it rolls over dead. Manous calls a blessing upon his Warhammer, moves deftly around the webs and boldly approaches one of the spiders. Unfortunately, the spider is agile and dodges the blow. As the Hounds stopped to examine the web, and readied themselves to face whatever had made it, they left time for Vivienne to catch up to the rest of the group. She looked at the massive spiders and gave a dismissive snort. "Hah! Such tiny creatures! You should see the ones that haunt the banana trees in the Gelepegos Isles!" Despite her disparaging words, she drew her pistol and took aim at the nearest arachnid. When Vivienne yells, the Old Man fires yet another round. The shot strikes a leg root and the big spider goes down bloodied despite having four times the legs of any of the hounds. It jerks furiously in surprise and begins to rise on somewhat wobbly legs. Lucien twirls his blades, ready to slash any spider that comes near. He doesn’t have to wait long. The spider (3) beset by the Paladin tenses and leaps over Manous and the webs to come down at Lucien fangs first biting the warrior (9 damage and ongoing poison 5 damage/save ends). The impact of the Deathjump spider knocks Lucien prone. (OOC: Since Lucien held action this round I guess you can get up now and act normally next round.) A fourth and even more menacing looking Spider charges out from behind a tree to attack Manous. The Paladin’s armor proves too thick for the Spider’s fangs, but only just. OOC: Actions for round 2 all? OOC: Spiders 2 and 3 are AC 18, Fort 17, Reflex 16, and Will 15 Spider 4 is AC 21, Fort 19, Reflex, 19 and Will 18
