Scout part of SRD?

Since I couldn't find a search function on this site (if it even exists), I'll just pop this as a new thread...

Is the scout base class from the Complete Adventurer (or any other base/prestige class in any of the "Complete" books for that matter) part of the SRD? If not, can someone tell me what the 1st 4 level special abilities are (that should fall under fair use)?

It exists, but you need to be a paying customer to use it due to the high server load.

None of them have been released under the OGL.

Interesting that it's a paid function... since most boards chastise you if you don't do an exhaustive search before posting. :) I guess it's all a matter of perspective. Anyhow, any answers on the 2nd part of my question?

It depends on who you ask.. some people erroneously think that saying anything more than "Its in [book]" is infringement. Personally, I find it stupid that you have to shell out $30 for a single thing if that's all you want out of a book; but thats capitalism for ya.

I know they get their ability where you add Sneak Attack if you move more than 10 feet a round.. I want to say it progresses like the Rogue's ability. They get trapfinding, I'm fairly certain.. sorry I can't help you more.

If you have a game shop or book shop, go and browse Complete Adventurer and see what it has... or if Amazon has a searchable version (they do, I just looked for it) use that and write down what you need so you can avoid paying a ludicrous amount of $$ for something you won't use apart from like 3 pages.

We'd rather chastise you for not buying a supporter account :D

No, and skirmish, uncanny dodge, trapfinding, battle fortitude, fast movement, trackless step, and bonus feat. (good luck with that...)

As a note of interest, the evolution of the Scout class is largely thanks to Unearthed Arcana and it's Wilderness Rogue varient, whihc is on the SRD. Essentually, WotC decided to expand upon the idea and publish a full-fledged, tweaked version of the Wilderness Rogue.

If so inclined, here's the SRD link to the Wilderness Rogue, and the Crystal Keep link to DL the Scout Class itself (in the Classes pdf). Of course the CK link isn't exactly legal, but it's just the basic, completely stripped-down class that's there - nothing else.

I'm certain that it progresses a bit more slowly. Of course, their rivalry with rogues is something that has been debated endlessly . . .

Well, until we have an RPG version of iTune...
