Scout's Skirmish and "special" damage

A 2nd level scout moves 10 feet and attacks using a cold iron weapon.

The damage dealt is [regular weapon damage] and +1D6 from Skirmish.

Is that +1D6 damage also considered cold iron damage, or is it unnamed?

If a creature has DR 5 / cold iron, would the +1D6 skip the DR along with the regular weapon damage, or would the Skirmish damage be reduced by the DR?

Just as with sneak attack, or Strength bonus, or enhancement bonus, it simply increases the amount of damage dealt by the weapon. So it's still Cold Iron, and it's still, for example, slashing damage, and it's still magic/non-magic, etc.

Extra damage of any sort, short of that which specifies its own energy type or damage type (i.e. piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning) is always just an increase in the weapon's normal damage.
