SE Michigan/Western Ontario Gameday

Did this thing just fade away? What does it still need to get an IV and return to life? Is locating a venue the challenge here?

I'm disappointed this didn't seem to get any steam. I'll ask around and try to round up a venue if that's all we really need. I was hoping to not be the one organizing the whole thing, though...

Id definitely be interested as its only about 2.5 hours for me to drive to the Windsor area. Im sorry I cannot be of any "organizational" support for this but I just dont have the time right now. You can count me in as a participant though....

cheers,

I was thinking about asking my local game store if they minded us showing up. They've got a big game room, at least. They're in Garden City on Middlebelt Road.

Of course, I don't know how busy he is on Saturdays, it may not be an option. But near as I can tell, it's the best lead around.

Pandemonium? Ugh. Its big, but kinda dirty.

Saturday's is usually Mage-Knight there, IIRC. You'd have to book way in advance. On the other hand, the owner (Andy, I think) is a nice guy and mght be willing to help.

You might want to talk to the owner of the Underworld in Ann Arbor. He'd be willing to help. Also, try and get in contact with the U of M gaming guild, or Diceslingers, EMU's role-playing guild. Tell them Ian sent ya. (Both should be back in Sept.)

Nonsense! I drove to the Chicago gameday and spent two nights in a hotel even, with three guys who snore! :(

Yeah, Andy is a stud, but I don't recall the room being especially dirty. It's not carpeted, so it does tend to pick up a lot of stuff coming in, especially in the snowy season. How packed does it get on Saturdays anyway; that was the big question I had.

Underworld, unless I'm remembering incorrectly, doesn't really have tons of room to game, though, does it? I only remember a handful of tables last time I was there (only time, actually.)

I'm still interested; I looked into rooms here at the U back when this was first being discussed, and realized we weren't going to get anything without spending quite a chunk of money. Even Underworld's new place, though, is likely not large enough--they might hold fifteen or so.

I was one of the people involved with trying to set the first one up, and the problems we ran into were largely a subset of the question "Where?" Therefore, Mr. Dyal, if you've got an answer to that question, well, you've advanced the cause a great deal.

Email me at scyldsceafing@yahoo.com and we can discuss this further, ok?

Pandemonium isn't too bad (I do game there on occasion.) but the back rooms need some work.

Underworld might be too small to host in thier store, but they have connections to U of M's gaming community, including their RPG guild. They might be able to wrestle some support from the University, or know of a good convention hall. Either way, it would be some free advertising.
