Fairly amusing how much people complain about something that isn't even out yet. The thing is: The book is for adults, and adults only. They have a good reason to -card- you before purchasing this book. Yes, it's likely very gross, and in many cases, very distasteful. It's about the only way a book about a game where you hack people apart, frog people -impregnate you- (Helloooo, Slaad, anyone?), things eat your brain, whole races consider slavery the norm, MONSTERS breed with child-like -elves-, and freakish perversions like griffons and merfolk exist. All this in a society where we watch things like "Scary Movie 1&2" and "Species 1&2". Look, they make -sequels- of these things. It requires a -great deal of effort- to make something 'adults only' these days. However, White Wolf does it CONSTANTLY. They have an entire publishing devision specifically for really really creepy Adult Material for their games (Worse, they do it for extremely important races, so if you want real info, instead of just new tricks, you actually HAVE to get these adults-only books. One of them includes flies and maggots pouring out of all the worst places), and few complain. D&D is, to begin with, not for anyone under 13, legal-wise. It's stated on the books. Never ever argue for anyone under 13. 13, also, is around where Sex Education occurs. I'm betting there's hentai and triple-X porn that's less disturbing than that Miracle of Life movie they made us watch on two seperate occassions. And we've got well-respected, well-known cult movies with -tree rape- (Army of the Dead, or something like that, had a root go in a no-no place... from what I've been told.. ). Outside of America, there is nudity and the like on -normal stations-, heck, I was in a hotel this weekend and had a spazz-attack as I noticed Showtime (Which I was hoping had some anime on), had some kind of porn movie on. Considering all these people get away with all of this.. why shouldn't WotC get away with it? Especially since you, as yet, have no idea what they're getting away with? Now, I'm not saying that I like the idea of rape being part of spells.. I lack the ability to find rape all that funny, even with cases like in Pulp Fiction. Heck, I have a hard time chuckling about BDSM, despite humorous depictions of women dressed in cheap leather, spanking politicians with ping pong paddles. However, free expression is free expression. Considering Hasbro, a toy company, is allowing this... why not -wait and see-. And if you're under 18, well, you'll have to wait a few more years. Of course, if you look into it and you're -under- 18... they should kick you out of the bookstore until you've matured enough to take warnings to heart.
