No, no, I am not telling everyone to bite me; there's a lycanthrope book by that name below. Meanwhile, I've yet another mea culpa to offer, since I failed to get a Picks roundup done last week. Truth is, True Believers, that this rather elegant site has some specific formatting requirements that are hard to manage when I am away. This is, honestly, because my so-called laptop is so entrenched as a desktop machine, taking it with me to cons is beyond inconvenient. I had thought to use Carinn's machine (which she takes with her religiously), but I didn't have all my logins readily available. These are, of course, digital world problems, but I am guessing many of you can relate. As Casey Kasem often said, "and now, on with the countdown."

2014 Digital Atlas

Arcknight is yet another very talented company when it comes to game table maps for folks who use miniatures in their gaming. Here’s a collection of all the maps they Kickstarted and otherwise created for 2014.

The 2014 Digital Atlas includes every map we’ve made to date, and will be periodically updated to include additional bonus maps, new transitions, texture maps, and other goodies. Anything created for our first kickstarter project, and all related maps; including the expanded retail map packs will be included in this Digital Atlas. Each map was originally designed for high quality print on 11×17 paper, with a hybrid style. Our maps are tilable and versatile with the strengths of a tile system, while maintaining the incredible quality and depth of a larger drawn piece. Traveller Core Rulebook Beta Playtest

I shan’t get into the “Tale of Two Travellers” debate here – it’s up to you to decide which version makes the most sense for you. Mongoose’s latest iteration is in “beta playtest” mode, which means you get the complete game “as it is,” with the option to send in feedback based on your experiences. There’s a lot of people really excited about this version, to be sure. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Mongoose invokes that classic bit of advertising brilliance GDW used so long ago…

I don't have another convention for a few weeks, so hopefully we can stay on schedule for at least that long. It seems like convention season gets longer and longer, and in part, I suspect that's due to the additional invitations I get every year. I hate saying no, but may have to in short order if I am to get anything else done.

For those who pay attention to things SPF and Evil Beagle, you may have noticed announcements about me giving Shaintar over to Savage Mojo. This is a good deal for everyone involved, especially the backers of the original Kickstarter. I am pretty excited to see what comes out of it, and relieved to know folks will get great Shaintar books while I focus on this Savage Rifts thing.

Speaking of, I better get back to it, so...
