searching forums

Okay, so I'm new. You can tell because the interface has defeated me. I want to search the forums but can't find a 'search' link anywhere. I read the FAQ where it says the following, but really, I can't see a link on any of the pages. Is it supposed to be on the same toolbar at the top with 'my account', 'blogs', 'FAQ' etc? Thanks for any help!

Searching Forums and ThreadsHow do I search for something?
To quickly find a thread or post of interest anywhere on the bulletin board, click on the 'Search' link in the navigation bar at the top of most forum pages. Then, type in the keyword or phrase you wish to search for, and select either 'Show Threads' or 'Show Posts' to view the results. By selecting posts, you will be shown only the actual post in which the search word appears.
For more control over the search, select 'Advanced Search' from the drop-down box. The advanced search page allows you to restrict your search to individual forums, find posts or threads by user, or return results based on tags (?). There are also options to find posts from a certain date, or threads with a certain number of replies.
How do I search a specific forum or thread?
If you are browsing a forum, you can quickly search for a thread or post within it by clicking on the 'Search this forum' link near the top of the page (it's above the list of threads). You can also search for individual posts within a thread by clicking on the 'Search this Thread' link at the top of any thread view page.

At the top of every page you visit in these forums, you should see this message:

What does a Community Supporter Account do?

It allows you to search the messageboards, send and receive private messages, give yourself a custom usertitle, turn ads on or off, create a custom style for your profile, get a nifty badge under your username, and gives you a special warm glowy feeling! Oh, and it gets rid of this annoying message, too!

Searching a large board takes up a lot of server power, so it's limited to those who contribute to the site.

Sometimes, if they're feeling nice, community supporters will run a search for you. But if you want to do it a lot, it might be nice to get yourself a supporter account. :)

!

Okay, I got it. Why doesn't ENworld just come out and say it - it charges $40 a year to be a member? The way I see it, without search a forum this size is pretty useless. I don't disagree with the concept of paying for something that I use, but by putting it as "become a community supporter" it sounded like that was some kind of premium friends of ENworld deal, not the basic 'everybody must have this' option.

Hokey dokey. At least I know. Thank you for getting a reply to me so fast.
