This month Secular Games completes one year of existence. It’s been quite a year for us, and amongst the various things we learned about the PDF market, the most important is: It’s really more complicated than we initially thought! Our three products have done well in 2006. The first one, Advanced Character Guide: Arcane Archer has exceeded in more than 20% our expectations for copies sold in the first year. As a result, we intend to continue this line in 2007, with the Advanced Character Guides Arcane Trickster and Loremaster. Shadows of Shinobi and Lines of Legend: Winter Elves (the first in our new series about different takes for traditional fantasy races) also have not disappointed in sales, corresponding to the positive reviews and comments of our costumers. Feedback has been very constructive; and we’d like to take this opportunity to openly express our gratitude to our friend Paul King, whose help in revising and proofreading our books has been inestimable. If we have committed any error related to our lack of experience in the PDF market, it was to project an overly optimistic prevision of how fast we could release out products. We wanted to release eight books in one year, one for each 45 days, but reality proved more complex, and the quality standard we want for our books is harder to reach than we initially thought it would be, and we ended the year with only three books. We’ll still strive to reach the flux of releases that we find to be ideal, and with that in mind, 2007 will be the year when Secular will try to better organize our timing within the various phases in the development of our products. By the end of this year, we expect to be working in three books at a time, to keep our quality standards without harming our release schedule. Beyond those Advanced Character Guides already mentioned, we expect to finish the first semester of 2007 with a great release. Vikings: Midgard, a very successful Brazilian d20 line that we at Secular Games are proud of bringing to the market of English Language. We are really excited about this release, and you may expect to see a preview of it in our site soon. Our website has already been updated and we’ll celebrate one year of Secular Games with all our products 30% off during February. We hope this celebration to be the first of many to come!
