Seeking Good Los Angeles Game Store

I used to live in El Segundo, and drove down to Third Planet in Torrance. That is an excellent store, and I highly reccommend it to anyone who lives in the South Bay.

However, Third Planet is just too far for me to drive to, now that I live in the San Fernando Valley (Sherman Oaks).

Does anyone know of a good game store that is more local than Third Planet?

I just visited All Ways Gaming in Chatsworth (which used to be The Gaming Zone) and felt it had really fallen on bad times and was generally pretty awful. (For example, I do not think they have heard about 3.5 even coming out.)

I've heard Last Grenadier in Burbank isn't bad (though I found their old store that used to be in Northridge was just okay), and I know there is a decent game store somewhere in Pasadena. I was hoping for something a bit closer, but will drive to one of those if either is good. I also have heard there is one in Semi Valley and Westlake, both of which are kinda far but I am also willing to drive there if people have rave reviews about either one.

Can anyone help?

Oh, and sorry if this is the wrong forum for this. I couldn't find another forum that seemed to fit (since this isn't really about seeking other gamers, but seeking other game stores).

BTW: If you live in the Los Angeles region and might be interested in another game, check out this thread:

Sorry, I can't help. I'm still looking for a good gaming store in LA myself.

I know someone on the boards suggested a place in Santa Monica, but for the life of me I can't remember the name. Anyone know what store that might be?

Well, it's been a while since I've lived in the Valley...

I used to live near Third Planet in Torrance! (I lived in Palos Verdes actually, but it was VERY nearby.) Third Planet ruled my world. It's on the corner of . . . PCH and Crenshaw. In a strip of stores on the side of the parking lot for the Best Buy that used to be a GemCo. I miss it!

As far as the Valley goes... The only place I knew of was "The Last Grenadier". Which you already knew about. (They moved *again*?)

As far as the Valley goes... There WAS a really great place called "The Last Grenadier" (sp?). But I think I heard it went out of business. :(

Our experiences are similar. I also loved Third Planet, but it is now too far to go to.

Last Grenadier is still in business, however they reduced from two stores down to one, and the remaining store is in Burbank (which might be my closest decent store at this point, which is a shame).

Yeah, I'm sorry, I edited my reply when I realised that I misread your post and you already knew about the Last Gren. :P

Unfortunetly, I moved south, behind the Orange Curtain, instead of North/Northeast to LA like you. So I wouldn't be much help...

Unless you move again. :D

I have a few friends up that way though. I'll see what I can find out from them.

While I know this isn't quite as far north as many of you are mentioning, but I just opened a game store here in Los Angeles in the city of Cerritos.

It is basically right at the 605 and 91, across from the mall.

If anyone is in the area and interested, feel free to swing by (and we have heard of 3.5 ;)

Game Arena
11312 South St
Cerritos, CA 90703

(P.s. Third Planet is and always has been an great game store. Even if you don't live in his area, stop in sometime and say hi, Chris is a great guy out there)
