I was all hot for it too, until I heard about the bugs... I tried the demo, had some problems adjusting to the interface, but persevered and found the demo decent fun. I went halfsies with a buddy on the full version, and the game wouldn't install properly. Fortunately, Atari tech support had my problem listed first on their troubleshooting FAQ. I was able to install and ran the patch as well. The game has worked well, except for freezing up or lagging in the latter part of the game (deep in the Temple with multiple commanded undead tagging along with my lawful evil clerics), taking a ridiculous 5 minutes to "quicksave" (LOL) and not letting me rest at an inn in Nulb. Frankly, the game's a lot of fun until these freeze/lag problems cropped up (that and being completely unable to damage the Balor in the fire node--what are 8th level PCs doing fighting a Balor AND two efreeti?). The game is now practically unplayable at this stage, and unadvanceable due to the Balor guarding the exit from the Fire Node!). I do miss the more RP intensive BG/PS:T series; this feels more like IWD (hack-n-slash). Even NWN had way more RP in it than ToEE. Still, a good game, and very instructive in how 3.5e combat works. I learned a lot about AoOs from playing it!
