[semi-ot] Is there a name for ....

Well, if I knew the name, there'd be no need for this thread. I've seen them at various Ren-fests and similar places.

The best way to describe it is "full-plate armor for your finger". It's like a ring, except that it has multiple joints and covers the entire finger, and is often adorned with gems and metalwork designs.

Any name for that which I describe?

There's also another thing that is kind of a ring/bracelet combination thing. It's a ring that usually goes over the middle finger, and then has chains that go across the back of the hand and then around the wrist in maybe a chainmail design of some sort. Any name for those?

Thanks.

Dunno what they are called, but I know what your talking about at least :)

I don't even know that either have a specific name, really.

Andy Collins mentions those here: http://www.andycollins.net/free_stuff_files/handflowers.htm and calls them ring braclets, handflowers or ring bracers.

On websites dedicated to making chainmail, I usually see these referred to as "handflowers".

Instead of 'ring bracelets', you mean?

I'll see what my 733T G00G73 skillz return.
