Using Khaalis's craft options found here: http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=665762#post665762 I used these options to create this longsword. IS this to over the top? Suggestions and criticism are more than welcome. Quality: Fervidite Cost: +750gp / lb. Benefit: Meteorite Ore. +1 natural attack/damage that stacks with Masterwork bonus. Hardness 17/HP 35. Quality: Laminated Steel (Slashing Weapons only) Cost: +900gp Benefit: These weapons deal +1 damage and their critical multiplier is increased by 1. (Thus a Laminated Steel Longsword deals 1d8+1 damage and has a critical multiplier x3.) They also gain a +5 to their normal Hardness rating. Quality: Serrated (Slashing Weapons only) Cost: +300gp Benefit: This weapons critical hit threat range is increased by +1. (Thus a Serrated Longsword has a critical range of 18-20.) They also gain a +5 to their normal Hardness rating. Hmmmmm, how about a Masterwork, Laminated, Serrated, Fervidite Steel Longsword. +1 to hit from Masterwork process +1 to hit and damage from Fervidite ore +1 damage and +1 to crit multiplier from Laminating process +1 to crit range from Serrated process for a total of +2 to hit Longsword that does 1d8+2/18-20/x3 and works just fine in an antimagic zone. Total cost: 3,000 for ore (4*750) 900 for laminating 300 for serrating 300 for masterwork 15 for longsword 4,515 gp (seems low) Estimated DC to create 35? Twenty for masterwork, plus five for each additional process? Assuming Skill focus ( weaponsmith), an 18 Int, maybe some skill enhancing item of +5 a 10th level Expert could make this item while taking 10. (It would take awhile, the time craft formula is so asinine I don’t even use it!) Is that unbalanced? I don’t think so. It is not that much different that a +2 keen, <insert another adjective here> sword which 10th level mages with the right feats can make. Any ideas? Comments?
