My name is Nicholas Oefinger, and for nearly 20 years I have been playing and running D&D, AD&D, and 3rd Edition games, along with an assortment of other tabletop RPGs. I have consistently relied upon my own creative abilities to generate interesting material on the fly, as well as augmenting my game sessions with well thought-out and thoroughly play-tested monsters, magics, items, house rules, and setting variations (I'm particularly proud of my Renaissance-era Greyhawk variant).
I am an experienced writer with several minor publishing credits outside of the realm of the role-playing game; my skill and understanding with written English has frequently been remarked upon as being both exceptional and inspirational. I edit and proofread my own work in accordance with both standard guidelines for written English and any particulars as requested by my clientele, and I am more than happy to perform editing work instead of (or in addition to) my function as a freelance writer (do note, please, that I have no experience or training in digital art or art placement; my abilities are solely in the arena of the written word).
I am particularly skilled with the production of material to be integrated with a particular setting's atmosphere; I enjoy fantasy, horror, and science fiction, as well as any creative or clever combination of two or more of the above. I am happy to work on an assignment consisting of a single creature, or of a considerable portion of a full core-rulebook-sized work, requesting only that I be given realistic deadlines based upon the size, level of detail, and amount of research required for a given project's completion.
I would be more than happy to demonstrate my abilities through writing and/or game content samples. Any sample work I provide is original, and may be used (with my compliments) exclusively by whomever it was sent to, regardless of whether or not my services are subsequently retained by said person or organization. Naturally, I do not request payment for freely provided sample work in the event that it is used, whether or not it is used commercially, as long as said use is made by the intended recipient of said sample work.
I request a minimum rate of $0.005 (one-half of one cent) US, per written word, for articles of 2500 words or less, and $0.01 (one cent) US, per written word, for articles of 2501 words or more. For large, long-term projects, or projects requiring a considerable amount of work not apparent in their length (i.e., research), compensation may be determined on a case-by-case basis.
For additional information, or to request a writing sample, please contact me at ggdatrpg@gmail.com or through my writing & RPG Website: http://crimsonkingdom.freeforums.org (please be aware that the Website is still under construction, and has not yet "launched;" its design and content are subject to frequent addition, subtraction, and alteration for the near future; a private message sent to me at said Website will be received as readily as an e-mail, however).
