First Post
This is the set of rules that i use in my current campaign.

It may seem like the magic would slow things down, but so far i've noticed no problems.

Edit: Made pdf version of file. Its all columns and formatted, copy and paste wouldnt be the best.

For future reference, many people, myself included, will never open attachments from the internet.

Not unless we are significantly familiar with the individual and trust them very well to not be accidentally or intentionally passing around virus-type stuff (worms, trojan horses, all that jazz).

Ergo, I and many others probably will not open/download this file, and therefore, you are unlikely to get much, if any, feedback/praise/criticism/suggestions for your posted houserules.

*bamf!*

For serious. And, even for those of us who will click attachments, a Word doc is pushing it. Macro viruses and such aside, Word is just annoying. Cutting and pasting, on the other hand, is very easy to do.

A PDF, especially because it can open in your browser, is probably more likely to be read. If you use Open Office you can export to a PDF directly, otherwise there are plenty of web tools for converting .doc files to PDF.

Even posting a PDF, you should summarize some of what you consider the more interesting points of your rules; that gives people a reason to read more.

You know, I am always surprised when I hear people question being able to open up a word document. Unless the document uses a lot of formatting, you can open it in wordpad on any windows PC. Heck, every Mac I've ever used has been able to read word documents as well.

I think this may be a case of protesting too much.

As to the document itself, I downloaded it, and then virus checked it. According to trend, you're golden.

Oh, in looking at the rules, I liked the fractional spell casting levels quite a bit. I used a similar system in a campaign that I ran a few years back, and the players initially said it was too complicated, but after they figured out what I was doing with it (i.e., making spell casters more easily able to multiclass) they liked the results. I also liked and would consider using the rules for metamagic and caster level reductions.

I didn't really care for the skill based spell mechanic, but I can see where that might be a flavor issue on my part.

All in all, I'd say this document is worth looking at if you can open it. I didn't have any major problems with any of it...is there anything in particular you were wondering about?

Ummm.....
I simply write this kind of thing up a lot and give them to gms i know and if they want to use some of the ideas thats cool, if not... its their campaign.

So i figured id post them for people that may be interested in some tweaks to d20.

Not saying i not interested in thoughts about it or that someone has tried x and it didnt work because of y.

Sry about that whole word doc thing, didnt even think about something like that. Did cause a good lol.

Thanks
