The Juni! Rhialto: Totally agree. There's not very much info on the Isslen yet! Sure, I'll leave them to you if you want to stat them :) Arkhandus: Neat idea about giving them both Darkvision and Low-Light Vision. I am a little thorn whether it would be balanced as PC race. Are we talking about up to 30 or up to 60 feet of darkvision? Here's the changes made to the Juni. Suggestions for are more than welcome! JUNI The nomadic tribes of the juni used on occupy the harsh, Southern Desert, before they were forced out by some unknown threat (only known to the juni themselves). They settled in the home of the bodai, much to their anger. Now the juni and bodai constantly war with each other. Juni Traits (Ex): Juni possess the following racial traits. -- -2 Strength, +2 Constitution: Juni are a hardy people, but their small size makes them less powerful than other races. -- Small size. -- A juni's base land speed is 20 feet. -- Low-Light Vision. -- +2 racial bonus on saving throws against the effects of hot weather: Juni are resistant to the ordeals of the blazing desert sun. -- +2 racial bonus on Knowledge (nature) checks: Juni are well-versed in the lore of the natural world. -- +2 racial bonus on Perform (oratory) checks: Juni have strong oral traditions. -- +2 racial bonus on Survival checks: Juni are adapted to life in harsh environments. -- +4 racial bonus on Hide checks when in a desert area. Juni are clever and used to hide from desert predators that are larger than themselves. -- Hardiness (Ex): A juni can go twice as long as other races without food or water before suffering the effects of starvation or thirst. -- Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day--speak with animals (reptile creatures only, duration 1 minute). Designer's Notes: I choose to go with a druidic theme rather than a bardic one. I felt that druids were more appropriate because it was mentioned that juni were known to dabble in the arts of mysticism and such. Made more sense IMO. It was mentioned somewhere in the Aleasana thread that the juni's warpoines were somewhat lizard-like, so I've changed their affinity with burrowing animals to reptiles instead. I thought about giving them a racial bonus against bodai, but opted to remove it in favor for other abilities. I wanted to keep the "add +1 to the Difficulty Class ...", but couldn't find an appropriate school to fit the theme. I don't think it would overpower them to give such an ability in addition to what they already have. The Illusion school seems kinda of out of place ... any suggestions? I did not make the juni cannibalistic (thou giving them a bite attack would be cool), despite the rumors ;)
