Setting Book Organization???

I am putting together a setting book and ran into some issues with organization. Thinking that I had the best research tool one could need, I thought I would ask Enworld.

What setting books really stand out for being able to impart the information needed?

I would prefer to limit it to settings and not city books since the two do not necessarily jive together. I also will not be including a whole boatload of classes, feats, and spells although there will be a smattering of each. The setting books that I have seem to spend most of the effort on spells and classes [Wheel of Time, Star Wars, & Midnight]

forgotten relams is a well put together setting book, not a bad one to emulate. But Oathbound and Midnight are also really good.

I'll second Crothian's suggestion of the FRCS--it's set up really well. Very easy to use, IMO. I've been poking through Oathbound recently, and I like that setup as well. May be worth checking out. Finally, outside of d20 fantasy, I've also found that Urban Arcana has nice layout and organization, but that's probably going to be very similar to the Wheel of Time and Star Wars in that there's a lot of mechanical information there, too. All in all, I'd say the FRCS is probably the best model I can think of.

Best,
Nick

I forgot to mention that I also have the FRCS....But I did confirm my suspicions that it and Midnight were probably good examples to work with.

Thanks for the relpies. Anybody else got any good ideas on book organization?

What about websites....Any really good organization for setting websites?

FRCS, Midnight and Dawnforge, IMO, are all really well put together, the right blend of crunch and fluff plus easy to reference information later.

The coup de grace for a setting book, though, would really be a decent index plus a web enhancement that offered an even more comprehensive index in spreadsheet form.
