Shadar-kai Shadow Jaunt Clarification Needed

I'd like some clarification on the Shadar-kai Gloomblade Shadow Jaunt ability. It states "The shadar-kai gloomblade teleports 3 squares and becomes insubstantial until the start of his next turn." What does "insubstantial" mean? Can he be seen? Is it the same as invisible? Can he be hit or affected by area spells while insubstantial? Can he teleport through walls? When this effect ends at the beginning of his next turn, he is suddenly substantial (visible)? I could find no references to "insubstantial" in the 4e DMG or MM or any other reference that I have. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
